Elena was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She came to the US in 2001 and settled permanently in Boston MA. She holds a BS in Economics from Sofia University, an MBA with major Accounting from University of Massachusetts, Boston and a BFA with major Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Elena worked as a tax accountant for several years before she made a decision to become an artist.

In September 2013 she made a difficult choice to end her accounting career and enrolled full time at Massachusetts College of Art and Design to study Painting. She graduated with honors in May 2017 with a BFA, Painting.
Elena is an independent artist and also runs a small entertainment business offering private paint parties and classes to adults and kids.
​
Elena works with oils, acrylics and watercolor. Her main interest is in exploring how the environment influences our daily lives; how each of us establishes a different connection with our surroundings. She investigates the spaces and realities that exist within this connection.
